Devastating Tornado Strikes Moore

A powerful tornado ripped through the city of Moore, Oklahoma, on May 20, 2013. The tornado, classified as an EF5 by the National Weather Service, left a trail of destruction in its wake, destroying homes and businesses. Sadly, the storm claimed the lives of 24 people.

History of Tornadoes in Moore

While Moore has not experienced frequent tornado touchdowns, it has been hit by several significant storms in the past. In 1999, a violent F5 tornado struck Moore, causing widespread damage and resulting in multiple deaths. The May 2013 tornado was the second deadliest tornado to ever hit Moore.
