Marilyn Mosby Judge Judy

Mosby Sentencing: Former Baltimore Prosecutor Avoids Prison

Time Served, Probation, and Community Service

A federal judge has sentenced Marilyn Mosby, Baltimore's former top prosecutor, to time served plus two years of probation. Mosby, who was convicted on perjury and obstruction charges, will also be required to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $10,000 fine.

Background:

In 2015, Mosby rose to national prominence by pursuing charges against six Baltimore police officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray. However, she was later accused of lying on a mortgage application about her salary and misleading the public about the use of COVID-19 relief funds.

Mosby's conviction marks the end of a three-year legal battle that has damaged her reputation and political career. She is the first Baltimore State's Attorney to be convicted of a crime since 1973.
