The Boston Celtics seized a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, dismantling the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 2 at TD Garden on June 6, 2024. Despite a strong performance from Luka Doncic, the Celtics' suffocating defense and balanced scoring powered them to victory.

Jrue Holiday, who had a quiet Game 1, erupted for 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting and dished out 6 assists. Jason Tatum added 20 points, while Jaylen Brown chipped in with 19. The Celtics limited Dallas to just 37% shooting from the field and forced 14 turnovers.

Doncic, who was held to 24 points in Game 1, led the Mavericks with 30 points in Game 2. However, he was the only Dallas player to score in double figures, highlighting Boston's stifling defense.

The Celtics now head to Dallas for Games 3 and 4 of the series. Game 3 will be played on June 9, 2024, at American Airlines Center.
